Beckett
Age 5
Beckett was diagnosed on March 22, 2023, exactly one month after his third birthday.
Beckett was treated at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Beckett had two brain surgeries, 30 rounds of brain radiation, and 5 rounds of chemotherapy.
Beckett was able to finish his treatment and go home cancer-free on November 22nd, 20223! His family and friends were able to celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas all together. Beckett had a "no more chemo" party at St. Jude and then went to Chuck E. Cheese, per his request, with all of his people.
Beckett will have scans every three months for the next two years. The first scan, on March 4th, held the promise of a NED (No Evidence of Disease) result, allowing for the removal of the port and reduced anxiety. That scan, thankfully, came back clear!
Beckett's Warrior Update (February 2025):
Nearly two years have passed since Beckett's initial diagnosis. Thanks to God, he has been thriving, and his family is incredibly grateful for every moment. On November 22nd, 2024, he officially celebrated one year cancer-free, a milestone that meant the world to them.
This past fall, Beckett started preschool and played in his first soccer game, a truly special moment for his family to witness. He's also been staying active with gymnastics and swim lessons, and it's amazing to see how much he's growing and learning. He recently welcomed a new puppy named Toby!
Beckett continues to have scans, and while scan time is always a little nerve-wracking, his family remains hopeful and positive. Right now, Beckett is full of life, energy, and determination, and they couldn't be prouder of him!
In September 2024, the family started the Wreck-it like Beckett foundation in his honor. To date, they have sent 102 Beckett Boxes to families going through treatment all over the US. They encourage anyone in treatment, or within one year of finishing treatment, to refer themselves for a Beckett Box or share the foundation's page so other families have the chance to receive one. You can learn more at wreckitlikebeckett.org.
Beckett loves monster trucks, construction vehicles, and his family most of all.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for all the prayers and support received.
